Real Estate / Transactional Attorney w/ Probate & Estate Planning Experience - Alabama Licensed
Location: Massey, Stotser & Nichols, PC - 1780 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, AL 35235
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: From $80,000 per year
Experience Level: Mid-Level (2+ Years Preferred)
We are hiring a Real Estate & Transactional Attorney to join our team and support real estate closing operations and general transactional matters. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, and experienced in Alabama real estate law and title work. This individual will also assist with Probate & Estate Planning. We are a mid-sized local law firm located in Birmingham, Alabama, with a strong and growing Real Estate Department. Our firm provides full-service legal, title, and closing solutions for both residential and commercial clients. With a reputation for professionalism and client service, we are expanding and seeking a licensed Alabama attorney with experience in real estate and transactional law. Also having a Florida license would be a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and oversee residential and commercial real estate closings
- Review title searches and prepare title opinions
- Identify and resolve title issues efficiently
- Draft and review legal documents including deeds, contracts, affidavits, and settlement statements
- Advise staff, clients, agents, and lenders on Alabama real estate law and closing practices
- Serve as attorney-of-record on transactions
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance across all transactions
- Assist with general transactional legal matters as needed
- Support business development and firm growth initiatives
Qualifications:
- Active Alabama law license in good standing (Required)
- Reside in the state of Alabama (Required)
- Florida law license in good standing is a plus
- Minimum 2 years of experience in real estate and/or transactional law preferred
- Strong understanding of Alabama property and title law
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Professional demeanor with strong attention to detail
- Familiarity with Qualia or other real estate closing software is a plus
- Experience with Probate & Estate Planning matters preferred
