- Forensic Construction Expert
Description
We are seeking an experienced construction professional estimator to join our team as Forensic Construction Expert. This role involves performing analyzing legal matters concerning disputes in construction contracts, as-built conditions, failures causation, estimating probable costs of repairs, document analysis, plans reading, onsite investigations, professional consulting, and preparing technical reports for a wide variety of forensic construction matters.
Requirements
Experience in residential and commercial, multi-family, custom, general architecture, general contracting, roofing, structural, and geotechnical. While this role focus is estimating costs of repairs, there is opportunity to develop skills as an expert consultant through mentor training. Location either Chandler Arizona or San Diego California. Full-time, in-office, high degree of data analysis, may perform field inspections documentation and photography on defect matters. Field inspections include fenestration, cladding, architectural, and walking on roofs typical 1-2 stories.
Conduct site investigations of existing structures and building assemblies.
Analyze forensic reports, testing results, and code compliance.
Review plans, specifications, and construction documents.
Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation.
Collaborate with team members on complex construction forensic matters.
Communicate findings clearly with clients, legal counsel, and industry professionals.
Minimum 10 years of industry-specific construction experience.
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and technical writing.
Experience in construction defects, building envelope, roofing, fenestration, waterproofing, or related fields.
Ability to perform field inspections safely and effectively.
Strong communication and professional interaction skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
College degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Professional licensure or registrant status
