Description
CULINARY ARTS HEAD INSTRUCTOR
We are searching for Culinary Arts Instructors and a Culinary Arts Head Instructor to direct our Culinary Arts Program.
The Culinary Arts Program is designed to teach cooking skills to children (age 10-15) who are serious about learning how to cook. Campers learn how to prepare a variety of full course meals, starting from scratch. They also practice proper food handling, food storage safety, and the use of cooking tools, knives and kitchen equipment.
Meals are planned around themes, which in the past have included: Italian Celebration, Mexican Fiesta, Southern Buffet, Mediterranean Nights, Sports Party Madness, Chinese Banquet, Thanksgiving Dinner, Classic Sunday Brunch, etc.
From appetizers to soups and salads, and entrees to desserts, our goal is for campers to learn the skills of the trade and create tasty delights and sumptuous delicacies that they'll be able to produce at home for family and friends.
Program directors are typically educators or professionals with extensive experience working with children. Accommodations are private and families can be accommodated. Children of senior staff members are accepted into the program free of charge.
Staff instructors are assigned to cabins and assume the responsibilities of a cabin counselor when not instructing at the activity site. It's imperative that instructors enjoy working with children. Instructors must have completed at least one year of college.
