- Assistant/Associate Professor in Architecture (Tenure Track/Tenured)

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Tulane University School of Architecture and Built Environment (TuSABE) is seeking qualified candidates within the discipline of Architecture to fill multiple positions for Assistant or Associate Professor in Architecture (tenure-track/tenured). Our growing Architecture program seeks candidates whose expertise is integrated into a coherent and compelling design pedagogy, with strong qualifications and enthusiasm for teaching core design studios and core courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. While expertise in history and theory is welcome, candidates are expected to be able to translate these skills into compelling design studio pedagogy. We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate excellence in teaching architectural design studios and in teaching, research, and creative practice in one or more of the following areas:
- Computational Design, Media, and Representation
- Energy Modeling, Circularity, and Decarbonization
- Materials, Methods, Fabrication, and Construction
- Building Tectonics and Structural Design
Successful candidates will support our educational mission and teach design studios, lectures, and seminar courses related to their area of expertise. Faculty at TuSABE offer coursework across the Architecture programs (B.Arch, BSA, M.Arch and M.S.ARC) with the opportunity to collaborate with other programs within the School.
Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The expected starting date of the position is July 1, 2026. Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have a terminal degree in architecture (Master of Architecture) or an equivalent graduate professional degree, doctorate, or a Ph.D. in architecture or related fields. Professional licensure in the United States (or an international equivalent) is desirable. Candidates should exhibit proficiency in their area of expertise and demonstrate commitment to rigorous design research and innovative curriculum development. We seek and welcome candidates’ applications from the broadest array of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
Tenure Track / tenured faculty members at Tulane School of Architecture and Built Environment are expected to teach; work with faculty colleagues, the dean, and other departments at Tulane to develop curriculum; contribute to cross-disciplinary research initiatives; and engage in service through a range of academic committees. Candidates for tenure-track/tenured positions are expected to pursue a clear agenda of design research, scholarly writing, and creative production. Candidates for this position should be ready to teach undergraduate and graduate-level design studios (particularly within the core curriculum) and coursework within their area of expertise.
